Boutsen Classics Cars teams up with CarCave
for an Exclusive Alliance!

April 25, 2024 — A few years ago, Thierry Boutsen met CarCave CEO, Roel Geraerts, during an event at the Zolder Race Track in Belgium. There was an immediate connection between the two passionate petrol heads, and they kept in touch.
Following the presentation of the CarCave Defender restoration program at the Rétromobile fair in Paris, things accelerated and they decided to collaborate. Not only will Boutsen Classic Cars sell the exclusive V8 Defenders in the sun-drenched Monaco, but both parties will also offer their range of classics and sports cars to each other's clientele.

CarCave, established in 2015 in Hasselt, has developed a unique range of V8 Defenders over the years, now being marketed under the brand name MIYO, “Make It Your Own”.

Thierry Boutsen expresses strong feelings, saying, "I am really enthusiastic about our collaboration: I drove the original Land Rover (red, short wheelbase, petrol engine) for the very first time when I was at the scouts in Brussels. I was 14 years old… I will never forget! This car has fascinated me, and, when I saw the CarCave Defender at Retromobile, that memory came flooding back, I looked into details, the restoration, upgrades and customization levels are just amazing, and the road test I did was just outstanding. What a car! "
Roel Geraerts, the visionary CEO of CarCave, expresses his excitement, "The Defender is an indestructible icon. Especially the original V8's are highly sought-after as collector's items and daily drivers. The V8 Defenders 90 and 110 that we are re-introducing to the market were produced between 1986 and '93, very solid vehicles that undergo a complete 'nut & bolt' restoration in our CarCave shop. For our MIYO range, we have created four styles: Safari, Classic, Nomad, and Urban, all of which are extensively customizable. CarCave Belgium and its subsidiary in Poland handle the restoration and assembly of the vehicles. For our dealer network, we have developed a configuration tool, including paint and leather samples, so that every customer can customize his own MIYO Defender. Our dealers are petrol head professionals who know how to configure a tailor-made V8 Defender for their clients"

Roel Geraerts goes on to say: “During our conversations with Thierry and his son Cedric Boutsen, we discussed our vision that potential buyers of a V8 Defender and other classic cars are, by definition, bon vivants. Cedric Boutsen agrees and adds, " Cherry on the cake, the car will be exhibited at Top Marques in Monaco (7-12 June), as well as at the Monte-Carlo Gems exhibition (18-22 July) where it will be available for test drives".
