Very rare Works Turbo Look (WTL)
The Porsche Carrera 3.2 Turbo-Look, also known by its option code I491, debuted in 1984, borrowing aesthetic and many structural features from the Porsche 911 Turbo. This model, with its naturally aspirated engine, was the first to officially feature parts of the Turbo's advanced chassis and brake system, which was derived from the high-performance 917 System. The upgrades came at a significant cost, with surcharges increasing each year until the model was last produced in 1989.
While the Turbo-Look models (WTL) used some of the Turbo's wheel suspensions, modifications were made in terms of caster, negative camber, and track width, differentiating them from the true Turbo models. For the WTL, shock absorbers from the regular 911 were used instead of the Turbo's Bilstein gas shocks.

The same brakes as the 917
Brakes were state-of-the-art, featuring large, thick brake discs and aluminum hubs for impressive deceleration. Wheel sizes and equipment varied depending on the target market, with larger wheels being offered starting in 1986. Despite these upgrades and options, most WTL cars were highly individualized in Porsche's exclusive department, with buyers typically not deterred by the additional costs.

This example
Only 19 WTLs were ever sold in France, and this immaculate 1985 example is the best kept of the lineage. It comes in Grand Prix White (the same colour as the iconic Porsche 908 racing prototype) on a beautiful black leather interior - featuring the sportier Turbo seats. Sold by Porsche Sonauto (official distributor for Porsche France), it has had only 4 owners since new, the current being a renowned French Porsche specialist working in the trade for 3 decades. The car comes with its original purchasing invoice from the dealership and a full service history with the original stamped Porsche service book, a full file of receipts and invoices and a Porsche COA. The car is matching numbers: engine, gearbox, chassis.

Excellent condition
The car is fitted with brand new Michelin Pilot SX tyres, breaks, engine and gearbox are in good condition, it has two new Fuchs alloys at the rear, a new AC compressor, and a functional sunroof. All in all, the car presents exceptionally well and represents a fantastic opportunity for a true Porsche collector seeking to acquire a very rare and desirable collector 911.
