1990 Land Rover Defender 110 original V8 Nomad

1990 Land Rover Defender 110 V8 Nomad powered by the 3.5L V8 producing 183 bhp

The Land Rover car design takes us back to a beach in Wales, just after WW2. The very beginning of Land Rover itself is the fabled story of brothers Maurice and Spencer Wilks, sketching out the simple design of what would become an enduring and iconic classic 4WD vehicle. A simple design, because times were hard. Cause, well, the war. Materials, even the most basic ones, were hard to come by. Hard times require a vehicle that is tough as nails. But with a dash of fun thrown in. Like this Defender 110 with the factory delivered V8. Ready to tear up the nearest dirt road or a quick jaunt into town. Yes, even in winter.

We are very proud to present what we believe to be one of our best Defender restorations to date. And believe us, we have done a few. This 110 V8 started its life in a dry southern European country, so we started from a solid base. Our skilled restoration team has spent 1 year restoring this 110 to the highest quality. For this project we pushed the boundaries to turn it into our favourite Defender to date. Finished in the striking colour of Grasmere Green, she will certainly turn heads wherever you go.

We are very proud of our one of one ‘floating hard top’ design. This means that you can enjoy all the fun of an open Defender without all of the buffeting of the canvas top at higher speeds. Plus it also looks very cool and gives us the opportunity to install an external roadcage with the fun of open sides. Being that this Defender is our ‘Nomad’ style, you will find wider fender flares, genuine beadlock wheels, winch bumper, and a lot more.

Over the past 12 months she has undergone a full nut and bolt restoration by our restoration team with the body removed from the chassis. The chassis was completely stripped and rebuilt. There is not a single bolt on this 110 that has been left untouched. Everything was either revised or replaced to turn this Defender into the best it has ever been.

Under the bonnet you will find her rebuilt original V8 Rover engine with raised compression and a special camshaft for a better response. Our mechanics have upgraded her with a Holley fuel injection system that also controls the MSD ignition system. We had here on the dyno and she produces 183 bhp and 260 nm of torque. Once the engine has run in, it will push +200 bhp. She does not hang around… Installed on this engine is upgraded cooling, upgraded alternator and upgraded starter motor. Mated to this wonderful V8 engine is a rebuilt gearbox with rebuilt transfer case, rebuilt axles and Salisbury differential. This 110 V8 is better than new mechanically and ready for many more fun miles. Keeping her fully original but upgrading where we can. Her suspension was upgraded with a 2” lift kit and better springs and shock absorbers improving driving quality. To improve the handling she was fitted with a brand new steering box with uprated steering components.

Behind the lovely shade of Grasmere Green you will find a high quality custom leather interior finished with custom wood flooring. To give you and your passengers the ride of your life, we have installed a custom high end sound system worth 5000 euros with 4x 200 watt (100 rms) Hertz speakers. And when you park up on the beach, you can turn the rear speakers to bring the party outside. To control this system, we fitted an Alpine infotainment system with Apple Carplay.

To finish her off, billet accessories were fitted as well as LED lights throughout for better visibility.

She is the best and most complete 110 V8 which you will find today. You really have to check her out and appreciate the hours of love that have been put into her by us. We have documentation of the restoration process. So what are you waiting for? Get in touch for a test drive. But we will warn you that you will fall in love…
