1973 ISO Grifo Series II 7-Litre

Boutsen Classic Cars is proud to present this 1973 Iso Grifo Series II for sale. Designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro and engineered by Giotto Bizzarrini the Iso Grifo was a limited grand tourer produced by Iso Autoveicoli S.p.A between 1965 and 1974.
Fitted with a big block Chevrolet engine it had claimed top speed of 300 kph which bested many Ferraris and Lamborghini at the time. Iso took the best of what Italy and North America had to offer.

The giant 7,0L GM engine needed a large scoop in the bonnet which somewhat disturbed the smooth lines of Iso Grifo Series Two. However, this specific Series Two comes with the elegant flat bonnet which made the Series One such a hit. Produced in the penultimate year of production in 1973 this particular car was one of the final Grifo’s produced. The car left the factory specified with the desirable ZF five speed manual gearbox and Campagnolo alloy wheels.

Bought new by the first owner in Rome 1973 it then changed hands to its next owner based in Torino, Italy. In the late eighties the third owner, a Monegasque resident, rebuilt the the car’s engine and uprated the brakes. After a good life in Monaco it found a new home to a well known Belgium collector. Once again the engine was restored and the wheels changed from the factory fit Campagnolos to the beautiful wire Borranis. Attention was paid to the body, changing its original colour of green to the stunning grey you see today. The original Campgnolo wheels are still in the possession of the current owner should you wish to change the appearance. Today the car is in magnificent condition, ready to be entered into concours events. All interior accessories such as the original Becker Radio and various dials work correctly. The combination of a stunning exterior and interior has led to this vehicle winning the Best of Show Coppa Classic Concours 2016 and finishing second in the 2016 Concours Paleis Het Loo.
